ok, second edition on eval ratio explanation.

So, you are aware of the basic idea that not every gallery you add to the script is good? and in most cases 95% of content you add (if you simply copy/pate without reviewing) is total crap... and that if we show this crap to surfers, they wont click. as you are aware, script crops every available content thats posted on gallery - both pics and movies, therefore we have like 10-16 items to evaluate from each gallery.

so, how it works - simple.

eval ratio is probability or chance of surfer getting new content (crap you just added to script) value 1:2 means there is 50% chance getting new stuff, value 1:50 means that only 2% of your surfers will see it.

what is important, when you start site or rethumb existing, is to get thumbs sorted out as soon as possible regardless productivity (cause you have none anyway) - so we show new content as much as possible (hence the eval ratio should be set 1:2-5)

now after some traffic you will get first sorted thumbs with their CTR's calculated - when you have about 300-400 of those, you can start slowing evaluation down because now we have some results with CTR and script can build page based on thumbs CTR. so at this stage (300-400thumbs with ctr) you can change eval ratio to 1:5-10. keep in mind that at this stage prod will be very shaky cause there is now way of knowing that your current thumbs with highest ctr are best possible combination from the gallery pool you have in your site. so, we keep evaluating at accelerated rate 1:5 to 1:10 till we have some 500-600thumbs with CTR's - then its probably time to slower it down to normal rate and set it somewhat 1:20-60 depending on site size, thumb CTRs (generally if top thumbs score some 0.03-0.05 its "bad", if you get 0.06 and up - well, it might work), desired prod and desired evaluation speed.

please note that this is only general guide as conditions per site vary ALOT.

if you have any questions regarding this, please post them here.

How about hooking it up dynamically to tmanager3 somehow?

Sort of AI casting rate based on trade script prod?

yea, I was thinking more of a presets, but you know, it is such an individual thing.. it varries alot per site, per thumb sizes, per amount on page and per niches... go figure what works best...

so, we kinda had it discussed with mathew and for now it is better to leave it as is until thumb script will be able to track actual prod per trades/sites and measure traffic amount there. then we can automate that too.
