New Thumbs

How long does it generally take for new thumbs/galleries to start rotating in, and where are they placed.... I deleted my 50 lowest CTR galleries about 8 hours ago and added 50 new galleries.. the new galleries are still sitting in the active bin... whats the hold up?

I'm sure you already did this, but sometimes I forget to do it too. And wonder why new thumbs don't show up. :)
