Does tmanager have this feature?

I was looking at several other tgp scritps and they have a master-slave script feature.

It allows you to have one gallery database that people can submit galleries to, and the webmaster or gallery reviewers to police. Then it uses "slaves" taht take listings from the database via ftp, and can work even on different physical servers.

i thought it was a cool feature.

I think Matt is the master and Andy is his slave :haha:

But seriously, the feature you describe sounds like Germes gallery bush. In thumbmanager the db is not shared between sites.

It's a cool feature if you run a lot of sites. I wouldlike a feature to dump the galleries to a text file (or .sql file) which you could then import into a new site with the existing importer. Maybe also option to rethumb the galleries for each site, so they look diferent to your other sites, so all sites don't look like they have the same gals

I think a common database feature should be refined to contribute with anything really useful. Something like if a surfer visits one of my sites and then is sent to another one of my sites, he will not see any of the thumbs shown on the first site.

If you are looking for a feauture to export galleries from one site to another, here's a little tip: I have all my galleries in MS Excel. First colomn is the url of the gallery, second column is url of the thumb, third colomn is the category (makes it easy to make your random text gallery links). You can sort columns any way you like and it is easy to copy the two first columns and paste them into thumb managers import module.

we are working on that on Tmanager's VIP suite - shared database between sites. meaning that you go from one site to another, it will show you "face" with good thumbs, but different than on site youre from.

well, we have lots in our minds its just that mathew have one head (maybe I should clone him?) and 2 hands and day is only 24h long...

sounds like a good feature for the thumbs.
It might also help to have spaces for several thumbs / text descriptions for each gallery to see how surfers react to the different variables.

I don't really see the idea of having several thumbs per gallery. If a thumb is not productive, you can delete it and make a new one for that gallery.

What would be nice tho was some kind of indication that a thumb is wearing out. Today we have total ctr (for all casts) and latest ctr (for the the latest cast). Maybe an average ctr for latest 10 casts would be interesting because it could tell if a thumb is dying out and needs to be recropped.

we are aware of this situation, but average ctr for last 10rounds aint good enough. we have something better in mind. :borg:

Maybe a switch thumb off temporarily feature would work. Sometimes good new thumbs don't seem to have a chance.

Um, dunno, thumbs cast at low traffic point each day around 20:00 central time have lower chance of a good ctr on their first showing. Unless of course tmanager algorhythm factors in traffic peaks and troughs?
